In 2013 I learned that:
1. Air popped popcorn is better for your health than microwave popcorn. Okay, so I may have known this before 2013 but I just couldn't bring myself to break up with my delicious homestyle Pop Secret popcorn which I've had a relationship with for several years. But it was time and I did the dreaded deed and kicked it out the door. I quickly hooked up with air popped popcorn and we have been together ever since. I'm still a little sad about the breakup but I'll get over it, eventually.
2. Having my kids take over their own laundry has taken a load off me. (No pun intended and no further explanation needed)
3. Faithful tithing (giving back to God what is His in the first place by giving of our first fruits) is a great lesson in faith and trusting that God will provide for our every need. God has proved himself over and over again when we are faithful with our tithe. It's been a year of financial blessing for our family and I attribute it to being faithful with our tithe (and Dave Ramsey's budgeting forms).
4. Trader Joe's is the greatest place to shop and affordable too. I never thought I could afford to shop there, for some reason I was under the impression that only a certain class of people shop there and I didn't fit into that class since we are on a strict weekly grocery budget (thanks Dave Ramsey) but much to my surprise their prices are the same if not better than the big grocery stores and the food is so much better and workers are super friendly! I LOVE shopping at Trader Joe's.
5. I love to smell things. Sounds silly I know but it is what it is. Luckily I'm smelling things that are good for me like fresh rain (I got two good sniffs this past year and they were heavenly), evergreen needles (I bought an evergreen bough from Trader Joes and sniffed it every day for a month, it was on my front door and come to think of it, it probably looked like I was making out with my door before I left my house every day- I like to keep things lively in the neighborhood), eucalyptus leaves (my neighbor has a tree, a very big tree that drops leaves right in my driveway and I simply pick up a leaf, break it in half and sniff), my daughter's fresh shampooed hair (I can hear her saying, "mom, what ARE you doing?", Pop Secret popcorn (Oh wait, haven't smelled that in a while- I may need a fix soon), and all the wonderful scents of Young Living essential oils. If you ever want to talk oils, I'm your girl. Our family uses them for everything. I have over a dozen scents and have sniffed them straight from the bottle while in public and embarrassed my family members. Say no to drugs people and yes to smelling healthy stuff.
6. Instagram is my friend. It takes a front seat to Facebook any day. I'm a picture girl so Instagram and I make a great match. If you and I aren't followers of each other on Instagram then please find me and I'll be sure to stalk you. You can find me at Korriray.
7. I think I'm loosing my hearing even though I passed my hearing test. When I'm in certain situations like a crowded place with lots of distractions I find myself saying "what" way too many times. I then get worked up about how many times I'm saying "what" and then an embarrassed panic sets in and I'm pretty sure the person I'm talking with thinks I'm hearing impaired. I got my hearing checked over the summer just to make sure I wasn't going deaf and found out I have better hearing than most people my age. Can you say weird? I guess it's a mental thing.
8. I'm still falling in love with my husband 18 1/2 years after we said "I do". He took me to San Diego, just us two, for a long weekend and it was magical. And that's all I have to say about that. :)
9. I can move my hips in ways I never thought possible, now now- this doesn't go along with #8 so just get your mind out of the gutter.... And before I tell you what I really mean by this one I'm going to sidetrack for a minute and say that I almost deleted how I worded this one because it sounds a little PG-13/borderline R rated but something else I've learned in 2013 is that I am less concerned with what others think of me. I've learned to be more confident in who I am and most concerned with what God thinks of me and when I live by that motto- it's very freeing. Now onto the hips, I started taking a Zumba class (see, it's just Zumba silly) this summer and haven't stopped since. I LOVE Zumba and have finally found a connection between music and the way I move my body. It may have taken 39 years to fine tune that connection but it finally happened. I get to shake my boo-tay twice a week for an hour each time and it's a highlight of my week for sure.
10. I love roasted veggies, just not before Zumba. I'll let you figure that one out on your own but I'll give you a hint, sometimes consumption of veggies cause gas so there are no veggies served with dinner on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Roasted veggies smothered in olive oil, fresh garlic, and sea salt are the bomb. Brussel sprouts, asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli, oh my....so good. I'm now drooling and soon will be tooting because it's Friday.
11. I couldn't stop at 10 because 11 is my favorite number. So last but not least, In 2013 I learned that as I get older and become more in tune with my aging body I realize that I get weak in my knees and feel like my legs might faint (just my legs, not the rest of my body) when I see my kids doing dangerous things. This happens a few times a week. With two boys who like to climb on high things, shoot air soft guns, play with knives (I mean use knives in very responsible ways) and do science experiments that involve scary things and then add in there a daughter who only knows one speed- fast; I feel this sensation often. But then I realized I'm growing up because I'm allowing my kids to be free and not hindered by my fears so I'll just deal with the fainting leg syndrome (while keeping a close eye on them of course).
So there you have it, 11 things I learned about myself in 2013. Now it's your turn. Without too much thought, just get out a pen and paper, or key board and computer, and just start writing or typing. Then share it with somebody! Reflection is a great thing. Here's to another year filled with endless possibilities for learning new things.

Your list is awesome! I congratulate you on numbers 1 and 4. Microwave popcorn is, almost quite literally, poison. And TJ's is the best. If you can't get it at the local farmer's market, get it at TJ's.
I've learned too much to post in a comment. I reflected a bit on it in my own New Year's post. But, the gist of it is I learned that I cannot do everything. I need to lower the standards I have for myself. It just makes failure that much more devastating. And, I also learned that if God isn't first in my life, then nothing will go right. Period.
Oh, I also learned that sleep is very important and that lack of sleep has detrimental results. Giving priority to that this year, possibly for the first time since infancy.
