These aren't the best pictures but they will do. This year in homeschool we are notebooking, I explained notebooking in a previous post. But for a short recap the kids are studying zoology and each Friday they choose a few topics based on what we have studied from zoology and then they research the topic and then write a paper about it, print pictures and describe what it is, write a poem, draw with diagrams, or whatever they come up with. It goes on cardstock and then into their notebook and covered with a plastic page protector. This notebook will also hold exceptional math papers and various papers from other subjects. At the end of the year it will serve as a scrapbook and be a nice overview of what they learned that year. So I decided we should make their notebooks attractive on the front and include a little interview form so we can look back and see what they were into for that year. I asked them to decorate the covers with the things that explain who they are. This is what Camden and Anna came up with. Jadon was a little too old for getting into it so his is much more simple and I didn't even take a picture. I have to be careful what I blog about him these days, afterall he is in Jr. High and I would hate to embarrass him.
As you can see Camden included matches (he loves fire, in a controlled and safe kind of a way), he likes McDonalds thus the monopoly pieces, a circuit board from something Camden took apart, instructions on how to fix something that has a hole in it. I love this and I'm glad Camden knows himself so well. And notice the answer to these two questions? What are you most proud of? If you could spend the day with anybody who would it be? He answered Mom to both of those with absolutely no prompting from me. He is such a sweetie pie, always making people feel better or giving encouraging words.
And here is Anna's interview form. And I realized I spelled Katy Perry wrong, I am not too familiar with her and actually had no idea Anna knew who she was. And I thought I knew everything about my kiddos. And all three kids agreed that dolls were what frightens them the most. Another thing I didn't know about our kids.
