This morning in homeschool we found a new family favorite to add to our list of annual homeschool projects that prepare us for Easter. Thank you Julie for all your great ideas! Here are the directions I followed.
the anointing oil (melted butter)the spices (cinnamon sugar)
I just thought I would mention here that Anna painted her own fingernails. :)
So this is what it looks like before we seal it up.
We learned it's very important to seal it entirely around the edges or it doesn't turn out quite right. The insides sort of leaked out onto the cookie sheet and it was quite sticky.
this is more like it.
After baking it, the marshmallows disappear and the tomb appears empty, well kind of. Some of ours looked more hollow than others but the kids still got the general idea.
It was a great visual lesson about the resurrection of Christ. It also led into a great conversation about the trinity. Oh, and I can't forget to mention that they tasted delicious!

Sooo neato!!! I'm totally going to steal this to do with our Wednesday night church class with teach (I hope that's ok). I love it! Thanks for sharing.
